It's the 5th annual The Haunt at Three Caves! For 2017 The Haunt at Three Caves will be on Friday, October 27th from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 19th! All prices are inclusive of fees!

In 2013 the Land Trust of North Alabama and Huntsville Young Professionals came together to start a new Huntsville Halloween tradition. Volunteers from both non-profits combined forces to organize a Halloween costume party like no other in Huntsville, Alabama! With a live band, local beer, and an iconic outdoor venue, The Haunt at Three Caves has become a must-attend event for young people (21+) in Huntsville and the surrounding areas. 

GENERAL ADMISSION: 
General Admission ticket includes admission and transportation from Gates Parking Garage Downtown to Three Caves.
- Early Bird Price of $35 from September 19th until October 5th
- $45 beginning October 6th through October 19th
- $55 beginning October 20th until sold out

VIP TICKETS
All VIP tickets are $75. A limited number of VIP tickets will be available beginning September 19th. VIP tickets include the following and more: 
- Early Admission to Three Caves beginning at 6 pm
- Complimentary wine, beer and signature drink from 6 - 7 pm

Join Huntsville Young Professionals for a guided hike with Land Trust of North Alabama on Sunday, October 8th to Three Caves, location of The Haunt at Three Caves 2017. We will meet up at 10:00 AM at the Bankhead Trailhead parking lot (2442 Bankhead Pkwy NE, Huntsville, AL 35801) and take a trail to Three Caves. We will spend some time in a usually restricted area outside of the caves.

This hike will be under 4 miles and relatively easy (wear appropriate shoes and clothing). Bring water and lunch/ snacks as we plan to have lunch along the way! The hike is free to attend.

Volunteer at "Bringing Up Down Syndrome" Walk

Come volunteer with HYP at the 15th annual BUDS Buddy Walk on Saturday, September 30th at the Huntsville JAYCEE's Building (2180 Airport Rd, 35801). 

The goal of the BUDS (Bringing Up Down Syndrome) and the Buddy Walk is to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The funds raised at the walk will allow BUDS to continue their efforts to support and educate families about Down syndrome, and also reach out to the North Alabama community.

Volunteers will be needed to man the Bouncy Castles, serve food, set-up, and other tasks.

Did you enjoy our summer trip with NACK in June? Or did you miss out because being awake before 8am on a Saturday isn't your thing? Well, you've got another chance to join HYP as we kayak with NACK! We will be going on a Tuesday Evening Float on August 29th. Meet at NACK at 5:45pm.

RULES:
This trip is a bit different that your typical weekend trip:
-No radios
-You can bring a headlamp or flashlight but are asked to only turn it on for small periods of time when you need it
-Glow sticks are welcome
-Everyone will stay together and guides from NACK will be provided
-No canoes. Only kayaks or tandem kayaks.

Volunteers will be needed for set up of tents, manning the water stations throughout the run route, packet pickup for racers, as well as start and finish line tracking.

Get dirty for a good cause! Join Huntsville Young Professionals as we volunteer in the CASA of Madison County garden on August 12th from 8AM to 12PM. If interested in helping more, from 12PM to 1PM we will be delivering produce to CASA clients at their homes.

We'll be doing typical garden work like mulching, weeding, and harvesting. Wear closed toe shoes, clothing you do not mind getting dirty, and garden gloves if you have some.

Bring water, snacks, sun screen, more water, more snacks, and insect repellant.

CASA (Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound) is a non-profit agency located in Huntsville, Alabama that provides services to individuals age 60 and older and to the homebound (wheelchair and bed bound) of all ages since 1979.

As an accomplished student-athlete at Sparkman High School, Devyn decided to attend Samford University on a full athletic scholarship. Devyn concentrated his course of studies in Human Development and Family Science. During his undergraduate career, his passion for community service led him to start a nonprofit called Brothers of 1 Voice (BO1V). BO1V aimed to educate, empower and advocate for youths who have aged out of state support services. Join Huntsville Young Professionals for Concerts In The Park on Monday, August 7th. HYP will have a purple pop up tent so that members can find us. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, bug repellent, coolers, whatever you need to be comfy. 

Arts Huntsville and the Huntsville Parks and Recreation present the 2017 Concerts in the Park season. Concerts in the Park will be held every Monday evening, June 5th – August 7th. The series will showcase a mix of musical genres. The Concerts take place in downtown Huntsville on the Huntsville Museum of Art outdoor stage in Big Spring International Park from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. The concerts are FREE to the public; concertgoers should bring their own seating and leashed pets are welcome.

Picnics are welcome at the Concerts, but local food trucks and vendors will also be onsite along Williams Avenue. Mambo Gris Griss and Big Daddy Kingfish will be playing on Monday, August 7th. 

A specific location of the purple tent will be posted in the Facebook event on the day of the event.

HYP Sport Sunday: Broomsball and Ice Skating

What is Broomball exactly? It's essentially hockey in your tennis shoes. You'll skip the sticks and puck and use a "broom" and ball instead! Broomball not your thing? The rink will be open for Ice Skating as well!

Cost is $5 to attend. This includes admission and skate rental. This is an 18+ event.

Be sure to wear your rubber soled tennis shoes if you plan on playing Broomball!

Get a little dirty on Saturday, July 15th beginning at 9 AM as we help clean up and clear out a local trail preserved by Land Trust of North Alabama.

All necessary tools will be supplied, but please bring heavy work gloves! Wear long pants and sturdy shoes. We also suggest applying sunblock prior to arriving. Bringing bug spray and extra sunblock is a good idea, too. This is hard work, so please stay hydrated!

Dog Day Out: Volunteer with Huntsville Animal Services

Brighten a shelter dog's day with a special hike and some one-on-one attention outside of the shelter on Saturday, June 17th as HYP volunteers at Huntsville Animal Services from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Volunteers will meet at Huntsville Animal Services (HAS) at 4950 Triana Blvd where they will be divided into small groups. The groups will rotate through different activities including hiking dogs at a nearby location, playing with dogs in the HAS play yard, and helping around the shelter in other ways. Slightly uncomfortable around animals? There will be other ways to volunteer that involve less animal interaction like greeting potential adopters.

Volunteers will be needed to help transport dogs from HAS to the nearby hiking location. Consider bringing a towel or sheet to place in your vehicle if planning on transporting a dog. Leashes, poop bags, etc will be provided. Please wear an orange shirt to help indicate that you're a volunteer. Please arrive by 7:30 AM for an overview and to be divided into small groups. 


Due to the interest and high demand of this event, we are asking for volunteers to pay $10 to save their volunteer spot. After you volunteer, you will be reimbursed your full payment or you can choose to donate the payment to assist Huntsville Animal Services further.  If you do not cancel your volunteer spot by June 10th or you do not show up to volunteer, you will not be reimbursed  and your payment will be used to buy requested items for Huntsville Animal Services.  Volunteer spot priority is given to individuals between the ages of 21 and 39.

HYP Annual Canoe and Kayak Trip

It's finally summer! Join Huntsville Young Professionals as we paddle down Flint River in canoes and kayaks.

We will meet at North Alabama Canoe & Kayak - NACK, approximately 15 minutes outside of Huntsville, at 7:45 AM.

Price per person is the following (Cash Only!):
- $45 for single-person kayak
- $35 for two-person canoe
- $35 for two- person kayak

and includes canoe/ kayak rental, paddle, personal flotation device, and transportation to and from the drop-off and pick-up points.

If you have your own gear, there is a $15 transportation fee for drop-off/ pick-up.

This will be a 4.5+ hour trip down the free-flowing waterway with breaks for snacks and lunch. This will be an easy paddle, so do not worry about your experience level. Just plan on having a good time!

What to bring:
- Lunch and other snacks
- Cooler (or plan to share a cooler with others)
- Beverage of choice (bring water!)
- Dry-box or ziploc bags for non-waterproof items
- Towel
- Bathing suit
- Sunglasses, hat, etc.

April Showers got you down? Ready to spend the summer being active. Join Huntsville Young Professionals at Brahan Spring Park soccer fields (off Ivy and near the Rec center) on Sunday, May 7th from 1 to 3 pm to play some Ultimate Frisbee! 

Ultimate is very active sport. Athletic wear and cleats(if you have them) are recommended. Don't forget water and sunscreen. This event is for intended for those 18 years or older.

HYP will be hosting #SportsSundays throughout the summer to provide an opportunity for young professionals to meet new people and engage in some competitive fun. We will be playing different sports, throughout the year.

Looking for an excuse to binge watch all of your favorite 90s shows? Were you obsessed with Saved By The Bell? How long did it take you to memorize the lyrics to the Fresh Prince of Bel- Air? Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Step By Step- which one was your favorite TGIF show? 

Join Huntsville Young Professionals at Blue Pants Brewery on May 1st beginning at 5:30 PM for a happy hour and 90s TV trivia beginning at 7:00 PM by Trivia Masters.

Pints will be $4 and cocktails will be $5 from 5:30 to 7:30. Trivia will begin at 7:00, but arrive early to work on your team name and find a good seat. Don't forget to dress up as your favorite 90s TV character for a chance to win a prize.

Yes, every Monday in May will be another 90s topic. Prizes will be given to the top 3 teams, random raffles, and even costume contests. Points will accumulate every week during May so be sure your team makes it every week! Don't worry- you can still play if your team misses a week.

Volunteer at Panoply

Join Huntsville Young Professionals as we volunteer at Panoply Arts Festival Saturday, April 29th from 2:45 to 6:00pm in the 'Zany Sculptures' tent. You will be helping children create sculptures out of pipe cleaners and other craft items. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing so you can check in early and stay late to visit all the artists' booths. Volunteering includes free admission to the event all day Saturday. 

There are only eight slots available, so additional volunteers will be waitlisted. Volunteers will be able to check in at the 'volunteer check-in tent'
