Brighten a shelter dog's day with a special hike and some one-on-one attention outside of the shelter on Saturday, June 17th as HYP volunteers at Huntsville Animal Services from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Volunteers will meet at Huntsville Animal Services (HAS) at 4950 Triana Blvd where they will be divided into small groups. The groups will rotate through different activities including hiking dogs at a nearby location, playing with dogs in the HAS play yard, and helping around the shelter in other ways. Slightly uncomfortable around animals? There will be other ways to volunteer that involve less animal interaction like greeting potential adopters.
Volunteers will be needed to help transport dogs from HAS to the nearby hiking location. Consider bringing a towel or sheet to place in your vehicle if planning on transporting a dog. Leashes, poop bags, etc will be provided. Please wear an orange shirt to help indicate that you're a volunteer. Please arrive by 7:30 AM for an overview and to be divided into small groups.
Due to the interest and high demand of this event, we are asking for volunteers to pay $10 to save their volunteer spot. After you volunteer, you will be reimbursed your full payment or you can choose to donate the payment to assist Huntsville Animal Services further. If you do not cancel your volunteer spot by June 10th or you do not show up to volunteer, you will not be reimbursed and your payment will be used to buy requested items for Huntsville Animal Services. Volunteer spot priority is given to individuals between the ages of 21 and 39.
Please provide your contact information for the event using this form.
Your volunteer spot is not reserved until you have paid the $10 using the button below.
