Calling all baseball fans!
HYP is attending the May 9th Rocket City Trash Pandas game against the Montgomery Biscuits! This game also features a Friday night Fireworks Spectacular!
Your tickets will also include $2 that can be used at the Trash Pandas Concession Stands or the Junkyard Team Store

Volunteering with HYP and ShowerUp
HYP will be volunteering with ShowerUp Huntsville by helping our neighbors sign up for showers, passing our toiletry kits, and cleaning the showers between uses.
ShowerUp serves those experiencing homelessness by providing showers, hygiene resources and personal care with our mobile shower units. We hope to share love, build relationships, and restore hope.

Brewery Tour at Straight to Ale
Interested in learning about the brewing process at Straight to Ale? Join HYP on an adventure, hosted by Cory “Roadkill” Berry, to learn about the history of STA and how the magic happens. Founded by local home brewers in 2009, the company uses bold flavors and innovative brewing techniques, and strives to enrich the community, build long-lasting friendships, and of course, make great beer.
Please arrive between 5:30-6 pm to sign in and mingle. Tour will start at 6:05 pm. Although the cost for the tour/tasting is free, please tip our tour guide to thank him for the time outside of his normal responsibilities.
Can’t make the tour but still want to hang out? After the hour-long tour, we’ll gather in the speakeasy where you have the option to divulge in more STA brews, seltzers, or take the opportunity to try their Shelta Cavern Spirits.

Mental Health Workshop with WellStone
Huntsville Young Professionals, in collaboration with Wellstone, will host speaker who shares their personal journey with mental health. Attendees have the opportunity to gain insights into the speaker's experiences and the challenges they faced, fostering an open conversation around mental well-being. Wellstone will also introduce their range of services, providing an overview of mental health resources available to the community.
Located in the Community Room, entrance is the farthest door on the right of the brick building.

Volunteering with HYP at Downtown Rescue Mission
Join us for a morning of community service at the Downtown Rescue Mission on September 28th! From 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, we’ll be engaging in various volunteering activities to help maintain and beautify the Mission’s facilities. Tasks may include pulling weeds, cleaning windows, raking leaves, picking up trash, and other essential maintenance duties. If it rains, more indoor tasks will be assigned.

Volunteering at Free 2 Teach
Join HYP as we support Free 2 Teach by Volunteering in their warehouse. Additionally we will be delivering all the backpacks we’ve collected on this day.
Backpack Drive donations will be collected at all July HYP events if you’re unable to help in the warehouse but would like to contribute to the drive.
Free 2 Teach provides free resources to students in Madison County’s three public school systems. These resources are available to more than 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and school staff and their 53,000 students, improving the educational experience of our children and strengthening our community’s future workforce. Gorgeous sunsets and the best view of Huntsville returns this Spring and Summer every Wednesday evening rain or shine April through October! Cocktails at The View offers a full bar with wines, beer and cocktails available. Weekly menu offers Charcuterie Boxes, Sharable Appetizers and Delicious Dessert Boxes. You bring your friends, we provide The View.
*In the event of rain, Cocktails will be held in the Pavilion. No outside food or drink please.

Kayak with HYP
If sailing away and leaving your cares behind floats your boat, join Huntsville Young Profes-sionals as we drift down Flint River in canoes and kayaks!
SPACE IS LIMITED you must reserve your spot by completing the attached google form. If you have your own gear (life vest required) you still need to reserve a spot for a shuttle only. No prepayment is required you will pay on-site day of. https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSfHynxDbj8.../viewform...
We will meet at Brown Bear Canoe and Kayak on
Saturday, July 13th at 8:45 AM. Be prepared to board the shuttle by 9:00am.
Price per person is the following:
- $45/person (includes canoe/ kayak rental, paddle, personal flotation device, and shuttle service.
OR
If you have your own boat paddle and life jacket, there is a $18 shuttle fee.
This will be a 4/6 hour trip down the free-flowing waterway with breaks for snacks and lunch depending on the water level trip is 5/8 miles. We plan to take the upper river route (5mi) but if water levels are too low we will do lower river (8mi). This will be an easy paddle, so do not worry about your experience level. Just plan on having a good time!
What to bring:
- Lunch and other snacks
- Cooler (or plan to share a cooler with others)
- Beverage of choice (bring water!)
- Dry-box or ziploc bags for non-waterproof items
- Towel
- Bathing suit
- Sunglasses, hat, etc.
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
Additional considerations:
-If you carpool, stay with your carpool buddy during kayaking!
-You may want a change of clothes if you plan to jump in the water.

Hiking + HYP
Come hike with us! Enjoy nature and some great company at Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve for about a 1.5 mile hike. If you have never visited the park the directions and entrance can be easily missed. The only entrance is on 72 Westbound (driving towards Huntsville from Scottsboro) and between the green Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve sign and the blue Adopt-A-Highway sign.
